John R. Mott is a Chartered Accountant with over 18 years of experience as an income tax specialist. He owns and manages a public accounting practice based in Toronto that provides tax, accounting and advisory services to individuals and businesses. Prior to opening his practice in 1994, John was a tax specialist with the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young.
John holds an MBA from the University of Toronto and an honours business degree from Lakehead University. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP).
John tutored for several years at the In-Depth Tax Course sponsored by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). He is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). His articles have appeared in various publications, including the Canadian Tax Journal and The Financial Post Magazine.
